Miznon Panama, the Glatt kosher branch of Chef Eyal Shani’s international pita chain, has closed its restaurant at the Pacific Center food hall in Punta Pacífica, Panama City, roughly a year and a half after opening. The closure is temporary: the restaurant is reopening in a new location at Plaza Bal Harbor in Punta Paitilla.
A Temporary Closure
The restaurant announced the move on its Instagram account, where its bio now reads “We are moving!” and “Cerrados temporalmente” (temporarily closed). Its online ordering site currently reports the store as closed, and Google lists the Pacific Center location as permanently closed. The move keeps Miznon in the same part of the city: Plaza Bal Harbor is a shopping plaza in Punta Paitilla, already home to kosher spots including La Finka and Pita Plus.
Background
Miznon Panama opened in March 2025 on the third floor of Pacific Center in Punta Pacífica, a complex that also houses Super Kosher, one of the largest kosher supermarkets in the world. The restaurant served the chain’s signature Israeli street food pitas, including the candy steak and the bolsa de carne dorada, along with its whole roasted cauliflower. It kept bishul Israel Sefaradi standards in production, with pat Israel on bread baked in-house, and served lunch and dinner Sunday through Friday, closing for Shabbat.
Miznon was founded by Chef Eyal Shani in Tel Aviv in 2011 and has grown to more than 25 locations worldwide. Panama City is home to one of the largest kosher-keeping communities in Latin America, centered in Punta Paitilla and neighboring Punta Pacífica.
