“LevinSky” Brings New Kosher Tel Aviv Café to LA

West Hollywood’s kosher dining scene just got a serious upgrade. LevinSky has opened on North Fairfax Avenue, bringing authentic Israeli café & sandwich shop culture straight from Tel Aviv to a neighborhood that already draws a heavy Israeli expat crowd. This one was built for them.

A Personal Project with Real Roots

LevinSky is a local business started by two friends who wanted to recreate the Tel Aviv experience they grew up with. The name honors their grandfathers, and the concept is straightforward: bring the café and sandwich bar culture of Israel to Los Angeles without cutting corners. The vibe is casual and warm, with Israeli music and the kind of relaxed energy you’d find at a good spot on Levinsky Market or Rothschild Boulevard. Think iced coffee, fresh bourekas, and a Jerusalem bagel toast while you sit and decompress. That’s the pitch, and based on the menu, it’s genuine.

The Sandwiches

The sandwich lineup is where LevinSky earns its name. The Tunisian is the standout: tuna with arisa spread, hardboiled egg, potatoes, parsley, pickles, and olives on ciabatta. It’s a classic North African-Israeli combination that you don’t see often enough in kosher spots stateside. The Sabich (eggplant, potatoes, tahini, arisa, and parsley on ciabatta) is another strong play. For something lighter, the Salmon hits: smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, lettuce, and tomato on sourdough. Avocado Toast and an Eggs and Avocado sandwich round out the dairy-friendly options.

Beyond the Sandwiches

The menu doesn’t stop at sandwiches. Burekas come in four varieties: potato, cheese, pizza, and burikitas, priced individually or by the half-dozen. The Jerusalem Toast Panini uses a fresh Jerusalem bagel as the base, loaded with Emek cheese and your choice of add-ons, including tuna, olives, feta, harissa, or garlic aioli. Salads include tabouli, Greek, and Israeli, available in small or large. There’s also a blended frozen yogurt station with a solid roster of toppings, including halva, dates, and the Israeli chocolate bar Mekupelet. Fresh-squeezed juice, slushies in coffee, chocolate, and matcha, and a full espresso bar round out the drinks.
