Ashkelon’s marina has long been one of the more scenic spots to eat along the southern coast of Israel, but the late-night kosher meat scene there has never had much of a home. Tagos is changing that. The new restaurant & bar brings a bold, street-food-driven concept to the marina with a menu built around over-the-top sandwiches, housemade sauces, and serious comfort food energy, and mixed drinks, all the way until 2 a.m.
Five Sandwiches, Five Different Meats

The heart of the menu at Tagos is a lineup of five signature sandwiches, each built around a different cut and topped with its own combination of sauces and toppings. The options span fried chicken, pulled short ribs, rib eye, brisket, and lamb, so each sandwich has its own personality rather than feeling like variations of the same thing. That kind of range is rare even at larger meat restaurants, and it gives the menu real replay value.
What sets them apart further is the attention to the details that are easy to cut corners on. All of the sauces are made in-house, and the bread is specially produced for the restaurant, which gives each sandwich a custom feel from the first bite. For a few extra shekels, you can add bone marrow and schmear it directly into the bread, which is exactly the kind of move that takes a great sandwich into memorable territory.

Starters and Desserts Worth Saving Room For
Before the sandwiches, the appetizer section covers the kind of sharing food that actually gets shared: crispy chicken tenders, corn riblets, and spicy wings. The wings bring real heat, and the corn riblets are the kind of unexpected item that ends up being the thing everyone talks about on the way home.
If you still have room after the main event, the churros are the right call to close things out. They come hot with homemade sauce and ice cream on the side, and they fit the overall vibe of the restaurant: simple, well-executed, and a little indulgent.

A Marina Spot Built for Late Nights
The marina location gives Tagos an atmosphere that a lot of late-night kosher meat spots simply do not have. The waterfront setting paired with the street-food energy of the menu makes it a natural destination for post-dinner cravings or a full night out. The 2 a.m. closing time fills a genuine gap in Ashkelon, where serious kosher meat options after 10 p.m. have been hard to come by.
Whether you are a local looking for a new regular spot or visiting the area and want a meal worth making time for, Tagos is the kind of restaurant that tends to become a habit after the first visit.
Tagos is located at Hanamal 2, Ashkelon (Ashkelon Marina). Hours are Sunday through Thursday and Motzei Shabbat, 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Closed Shabbat. Kosher certification is under the Rabbanut Ashkelon.
