Since the unfortunate closure of the Milk Street Cafe in the Financial District, many who work on Wall Street have been without a Kosher lunch option. As you may remember, the owner of the cafe protested not only Occupy Wall Street's activities outside his storefront, but also the NYPD baracades that made it difficult for [...]

Just because it's Kosher doesn't mean it's cleaner. That's certainly the case with Shalom Chai Pizza at 357 Grand Street in the Lower East Side, New York City. The kosher eatery, with decent reviews on MenuPages, was closed down after 75 violations were found by the City Health Department today. Some of the most egregious [...]

The popular Kosher eatery in the lobby of the Empire State Building is no longer Kosher. The restaurant has reportedly been sold and will not be maintained as a Kosher pizzeria. H/T to @ElyRosenstock

An odd name, and an odd location (for a Kosher restaurant), Jezebel is seeking to create another unique kosher experience in NYC, along the likes of Pardes, Mike's Bistro, and Basil. According to this recent WSJ article, Jezebel may be the first kosher restaurant to serve nonmevushal wine (unpasterized kosher wine), which is a huge [...]

Review by Arielle Klein It seems that restaurants come and go rather quickly. In place of what used to be "Fusion Toast", which came and went without my ever even setting foot in the place – is now a new restaurant called "The Upper Crust". Luckily this time I was able to get in [...]

Wolf & Lamb Steakhouse, the popular midtown Manhattan restaurant, is opening up a new location in Midwood, on the corner of Coney Island Ave. & Ave. M. This space has been occupied by at least 1-2 other kosher restaurants over the past 10+ years, but hopefully this unique location will work well for the existing [...]

Contributed by Estee Lavitt (@EsteeLavitt) I went to Bravo Pizza a few weeks ago. The pizza was delicious but the service was really not up to par. The store itself is pretty small. The staff was very friendly and nice, but unfortunately a little slow and unable to handle the crowd. I don't think [...]

Adding informative and relevant content to YeahThatsKosher.com has become more work than a person can handle singularly. The importance of keeping this site strong for the Kosher observant Jewish community drives us to seek a Web Content Coordinator to assist in finding leads, writing, and posting relevant content for our community. Candidates should have strong English [...]

In the past few days, a new Kosher Pizza place appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan on Broadway and W37th st. Bravo Pizza, a long time next door neighbor of Kosher Delight, has decided to go Kosher, kashering its entire store, now with an OK Supervision (Cholov Yisroel). The restaurant [...]

On Monday night, my wife and I tried the brand new Ahuva's Grill in Hewlett (5 Towns) which just opened last week in the Peninsula Shopping Center, a few stores down from Bagel Boss. Upon entering we were greeted by the friendly young wait staff. The restaurant is a casual dining atmosphere, with many Israeli [...]

Classy “M Restaurant” has closed it’s doors in Flatbush and will be reopening in Manhattan in the near future. No specific date or location has been announced for it’s reopening, but we look forward to trying it when it does. One of our Twitter followers was pretty upset upon the hearing of this place closing: [...]

After more than a decade on 18th Ave on the cusp of Borough Park, Dougie’s will be shutting its doors permanently this Sunday. While the restaurant was able to ride the coattails of the original Dougie’s on the Upper West Side, that too, along with the branch in Queens has since closed. It seems that [...]

In the Peninsula Shopping Center in Hewlett, NY, a new Glatt Kosher restaurant is coming in replacing a non-kosher Pinatas Mexican Grill. The new restaurant is called Ahuva’s Grill, but we do not have any other details at the moment. We will update this post when we receive more information. [googleMap]map[/googleMap]

According to this source, even though some of Milk Street’s business has bounced back since the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street protests began a few months ago, many of the NYPD barricades still remain on and near Wall Street despite the closing of Zuccotti Park as a campsite for the movement. Marc Epstein, the [...]

JetBlue’s T5 JFK terminal is well stocked and Kosher-friendly. If you’re hungry and flying through JetBlue’s new (and beautiful) T5 terminal at JFK Airport, you’re in luck! I did a scan of the new terminal’s offerings and to my surprise, I found numerous Kosher options offered at all of the terminal’s CIBO Express shops*. The [...]

Soom Soom is open at Lexington Ave and 56th st. in NYC. Personally, I think it’s the best kosher falafel in New York. The salad bar has a larger selection than the uptown sister store – this includes, among other things, beets, guacamole and fried cauliflower. The staff was friendly. Service was good and fast. [...]
