A fresh new concept is spicing up the South Florida kosher dining scene. Puya Urban Cantina, a vibrant fast-casual eatery specializing in authentic Mexican street food, has officially opened in Dania Beach, only minutes from the Fort Lauderdale / Hollywood International Airport (FLL), bringing with it bold flavors, a dynamic atmosphere, and a modern take on traditional Latin cuisine.

From the Creators of Fuego, Oki, and G7
If the name sounds new but the vibe feels familiar, that’s because Puya Urban Cantina comes from the same restaurant group behind some of the most popular kosher spots in South Florida — Fuego & Oki in Aventura, and G7 in Hollywood. Known for creating trend-forward, culturally inspired kosher experiences, this group has consistently raised the bar in kosher dining. With Puya, they’re taking it to the streets—Mexican street food, that is.

A Concept Rooted in Culture and Creativity
Puya Urban Cantina was inspired by a deep passion for vibrant flavors and the artistry of Mexican cuisine. The name itself is a tribute to the puya chile pepper—a fiery but balanced ingredient that mirrors the restaurant’s personality: bold, flavorful, and energetic. The goal wasn’t simply to open another Mexican restaurant, but to reimagine the genre through a kosher lens while preserving its cultural essence.
According to the team behind Puya, this restaurant is where tradition meets innovation. It’s designed to be a place where guests can indulge in nostalgic street food flavors while experiencing refined, contemporary culinary techniques. Every detail—from the ingredients and spices to the casual-yet-urban decor—is crafted to transport diners straight to the bustling streets of Mexico City.

Mexican Street Food, Reimagined Kosher
The menu focuses on fast-casual Mexican street food, offering crave-worthy favorites like tacos, burritos, nachos, and more—though the exact menu lineup will continue to evolve in the coming weeks. While still early in its launch, the offerings are designed to appeal to diners looking for authentic taste without compromising on kosher standards.
What sets Puya apart is its immersive experience. The restaurant doesn’t just serve food—it delivers a full sensory experience that embraces Mexican culture. Whether it’s the flavors, the design, or the music playing in the background, everything works together to make guests feel like they’re stepping into a vibrant mercado.

Casual Vibes, Serious Flavor
Puya Urban Cantina is designed as a fast-casual dining experience, making it perfect for a quick bite, a casual dinner, or a fun night out with friends. In the coming months, the restaurant will be rolling out takeout and delivery options, making it even more accessible for locals and visitors alike.
Puya Urban Cantina is located at 2726 Griffin Rd, Dania Beach, FL 33312. The restaurant is certified kosher by ORB (Orthodox Rabbinical Board). Hours of operation are Sunday–Thursday from 5:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and Saturday nights, opening 2.5 hours after Shabbat.
