NYC’s Mocha Burger Lux Will Offer a Whopping $175 Burger

Yep, you read that right! Kosher restauranteur and owner of the Mocha branded franchise (including Mocha Bleu, Mocha Red, and Mocha Burger), Naftali Abenaim, has confirmed an upscale addition with Mocha Burger Lux, an upscale burger/steakhouse combo coming to midtown Manhattan we announced earlier this year. Included in the regular meat menu will be one stand-out product: a 24K Gold Plated Golden Burger.

The burger will be a 12-ounce short-rib burger wrapped in leaves of 24-karat gold. After being grilled, it will be topped with Australian black truffle, crispy onions and chips, sauce, and pickles. But that is just where it begins- the burger is brought to the table in a custom, hand-carved wooden chest that when opened, will trigger smoke and lights that illuminate the dish.

Dramatic? Yup.

Over-the-top? To say the least.

But Abenaim has confirmed that the meal is not about the burger, but rather is about the theatrics and experience it creates.

It definitely does seem like an experience, although if it’s worth the price tag will have to be determined when the location officially opens at 4 E46th Street, New York, NY in the coming weeks.

Mocha Burger is Glatt Kosher certified by the OU.
