After nearly 90 years in business, one of the country’s oldest kosher restaurants and Jewish delis, Rubin’s in Brookline, MA will be closing its doors today at 3pm.
Opened in 1928, Rubin’s was the quintessential Jewish deli serving the wider Boston community with its restaurant and catering.
Boston area resident are already expressing their sadness as this is a big loss for the community.
It is believed that the property owner intends to use the land for residential development.
Stop the presses! Looks like the owners “rebuffed” offers from condo developers, and someone bought the place to possibly continue to run it as a deli:
