Buffalo NY Loses One of its Two Kosher Restaurants

Tel Aviv Cafe by Falafel Bar in Buffalo’s JCC (located in Amherst, NY) announced that it had closed yesterday in a post on Facebook.

The restaurant was one of two kosher restaurants in the Buffalo, NY area serving the Jewish community. NY Deli and Diner, located in Talbert Hall on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus, is now the only Buffalo Vaad Hakashrus-approved restaurant left in the area. Additionally, Nissan’s Kosher Deli, a takeout counter inside of Tops supermarket, which is also certified by the BVK, can make sandwiches which can be eaten at the cafe area inside Tops.

No word as to whether the JCC will seek to find a replacement kosher eatery.
