Chimichurri Expands Catering & Shabbos Takeout Offerings in the 5 Towns

Grand Opening of “The Shuk” and Expanded Shabbos Takeout

Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken in Cedarhurst has announced several new additions to its business, expanding both its food offerings and on-site capabilities for customers in the Five Towns. The updates include the launch of a new concept called “The Shuk,” expanded Shabbos takeout options, catering services, and the availability of a private party room.

The introduction of “The Shuk” reflects a continued focus on prepared foods and takeout options, with an emphasis on convenient ordering throughout the week. Customers can place both phone and online orders all week long, with dedicated Shabbos takeout food available on Thursdays and Fridays.

“The Shuk” menu itself is built around classic Shabbos-style favorites and prepared foods that are easy to mix and match for a full meal. To start, customers can pick up staples like potato kugel and Yerushalmi kugel, along with deli-style options including salami and charcuterie. The hot menu includes both pastrami cholent and regular cholent, plus kishka with gravy, chicken, and pastrami kishka. Additional options include farfel with facon, and greiven for anyone looking to add something extra hearty and traditional. To round everything out, The Shuk also offers a full lineup of house dips and sauces like chumus, techina, baba ganoush, garlic dip, and shallot dip, plus a variety of sides including cole slaw, macaroni salad, Israeli salad, tomato salad, chickpea salad, and more.

Approximately 6-8 new items will be added to The Shuk menu every week.

The Shuk Shabbos takeout food is specifically open on Thursdays and Fridays. This allows customers to plan ahead for Shabbos meals while maintaining consistency with the restaurant’s existing menu style and preparation standards.

In addition, charcuterie and meat boards are now available during the week with advance pre-ordering. These boards are positioned as an option for hosting, events, or family meals, and are offered outside of the regular Shabbos takeout window.

Charcuterie Boards Now Available via Pre-Order

In addition to its Shabbos takeout lineup, Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken is also introducing a new charcuterie board option, available during the week by pre-order. The boards are designed for hosting, family gatherings, and easy entertaining, featuring a mix of premium meats and curated accompaniments in a ready-to-serve presentation.

Catering Services and Private Party Room “Amba”

Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken has also added catering services, which are available in conjunction with an exclusive on-site party room named Amba. The private space is designed for events, celebrations, and group gatherings, offering customers the ability to host functions while utilizing the restaurant’s catering menu and service capabilities.

This expansion marks a notable shift toward accommodating larger groups and private events directly at the Cedarhurst location, rather than catering exclusively off-site. The popular restaurant can accommodate all kinds of catering events, including on-site.

Kosher Supervision Update

Alongside these operational updates, when Chimichurri Charcoal Chicken reopened earlier in 2025, they once again moved their kosher supervision under the Vaad of the Five Towns.
