Emack & Bolio’s has opened a kosher ice cream shop in Great Neck, bringing the Boston-born brand to the North Shore of Long Island under KVH supervision. The shop officially opened on Friday, October 9, 2026.
Emack & Bolio’s started in 1975 in a Boston basement as a late-night stop for local musicians and touring rock bands, and the brand is still tied to that history. It is known for flavor collaborations and oversized cones trimmed with cereal, sprinkles and shaved coconut. Flavors that have been popular across its shops include Toasted S’moreo, Bananas Foster, Stoney’s Dream and Grasshopper Pie, and the menu also lists sorbet, yogurt, small-batch vegan flavors made with coconut cream and sugar-free options.
Across its shops, Emack & Bolio’s sells scoops in a cone or cup, pints and quarts to take home, build-your-own sundaes and smoothies made with its frozen flavors. The brand says its ice cream is made with hormone-free dairy, pure cane sugar and coconut oil, and every storefront carries a mural of its winged angel logo holding an ice cream cone.

Toppings and the Kosher Certification Fine Print
Not every topping at the Great Neck shop carries the same certification. Non-kosher toppings are labeled as such, so customers should check the labels before choosing cones, sundaes and other add-ons.
The new shop joins other kosher dessert options in the area, including Cold Stone Creamery’s kosher location in Great Neck, which opened in May. Emack & Bolio’s also operates shops in Manhattan, Rockville Centre and Mineola, and the KVH supervision applies to the Great Neck location.

Location, Hours and Kosher Certification
Emack & Bolio’s is at 3 Great Neck Road in Great Neck Plaza, Great Neck, NY, and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The shop is under KVH kosher supervision.
