Kosher Build-Your-Own Wich & Bowl Spot, Wicked Wiches, Coming to the 5 Towns

Wicked Wiches is preparing to open a new kosher restaurant in the 5 Towns, located down the block from the Hewlett LIRR train station. The concept offers a build-your-own sandwich and bowl format alongside chef-designed signature options. The restaurant focuses on bold flavors, premium proteins, and customizable ingredients to appeal to diners seeking fresh, made-to-order meals.

Build-A-Wich and Bowl Customization

The menu begins with a choice of bread or bowl base. Bread selections include ciabatta, focaccia, Italian sesame hero, Italian hero, toasted potato bun, whole wheat wrap, pita, or hot dog bun. Bowl bases include salad, rice pilaf, french fries, or house-spiced french fries. Customers then select one protein, with options such as fried chicken thigh, za’atar grilled chicken, premium grilled steak, double smash burgers, slow-cooked pulled beef, fried fish fillet, or falafel.

Toppings are chosen in sets of three, with additional options available for an upcharge. Choices include house-made shoestring fries, tomato, house pickles, Israeli salad, za’atar slaw, cucumbers, balsamic caramelized onions, roasted red peppers, pickled jalapeños, sumac slaw, lettuce, mixed greens, hummus, pickled celery and carrot salad, and pickled hot peppers. This structure allows diners to create both traditional and globally influenced combinations.

Sauces play a central role in the menu, with two included in each build. Available selections include aji verde, mojo rojo hot sauce, chimichurri, roasted garlic aioli, dijon aioli, calabrian chili aioli, charred lime tartar, za’atar tahini, basil pesto, balsamic glaze, lemon basil vinaigrette, BBQ, buffalo, basil ranch, dill ranch, honey mustard, spicy harissa hot sauce, sweet onion sauce, ketchup, spicy ketchup, garlic aioli, and pomegranate glaze.

Signature Sandwiches

In addition to fully customizable items, Wicked Wiches offers a lineup of signature creations. The Steak Frites Sandwich features toasted ciabatta bread, premium grilled steak, chimichurri, garlic aioli, pickled red onion, and shoestring fries. The BBQ Pulled Beef Sandwich includes slow-cooked pulled beef, BBQ sauce, hummus, pickles, pickled jalapeños, and za’atar slaw on a toasted potato bun.

Other notable options include the Fried Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with buffalo sauce and dill ranch, the Grilled Chicken Sandwich with basil pesto and balsamic glaze, the Double Smash Burger with pickles and house sauces, and the Falafel Pita Sandwich with za’atar tahini, hummus, and spicy harissa hot sauce.

Signature Bowl Options and Appetizers

The Lomo Saltado Bowl combines fries, premium grilled steak, roasted red peppers, balsamic caramelized onions, pickled jalapeños, shredded romaine, and aji verde sauce. The Crispy Chicken Bowl features fried chicken thigh, pickled cherry peppers, shredded romaine, roasted garlic aioli, and mojo rojo sauce. A vegetarian option is available via the Falafel Bowl, which includes rice pilaf, falafel, sumac slaw, pickled turnips, cucumbers, hummus, and za’atar tahini.

Appetizers include regular fries, house-spiced fries, regular onion rings, house-spiced onion rings, hot dog tacos, and slow-cooked pulled beef tacos. Wing platters are offered in multiple sizes, with sauce options available.

Final Details

Wicked Wiches will open at 10 Franklin Avenue, Hewlett, NY 11557. The Hewlett location is expected to operate under kosher certification from the Vaad of the Five Towns. Hours for the Hewlett store are Monday through Thursday from 12 pm to 10 pm, Friday closed, Saturday opening one hour after Shabbat until 12 am, and Sunday from 1 pm to 10 pm.

Ordering will be available for pickup and delivery through major food delivery platforms including Uber Eats, Postmates, Grubhub, and DoorDash.

We expect the restaurant to open within the first 2 weeks of December 2025.
