ITINERARY: 9 Days in Spain / Gibraltar – Jewish & Kosher Trip Guide

Day 6 – Explore Ronda

After leaving Gibraltar we drove north, first to the coastal vacation city of Marbella for an early kosher lunch at Daniel’s Kosher Kitchen. The restaurant was decent, but nothing to write home about. Definitely not complaining about finding any kosher restaurant in Spain. We had kabobs, burgers, fries, falafel and more. It was a nice spot with indoor and outdoor dining.

After lunch, we hopped back in the car for a ~1 hour drive north through the mountains to Ronda. Ronda is a beautiful town in Andalusia rich with history, architecture, and insane views.

We spent the afternoon discovering the Bullring of the Royal Cavalry, then walking through the town across the archway bridges that overlook the gorges underneath. The views are spectacular!

As the sun began to set, we hopped back into the car to head to our next destination, Granada, about a 2-hour drive from Ronda. We arrived in Ronda well after nightfall, prepared dinner in our Airbnb, and went to bed to prepare for a big day ahead.

Day 7 – Explore Granada

Granada is an old and beautiful city, rich with history that goes back hundreds and thousands of years to Islamic conquests of Spain, the Inquisition, and more. The most important visit to Granada is the Alhambra, a medieval complex of palaces, gardens, courtyards, fountains, and more. The views within the walls and outside of the complex were outstanding. Expect to spend at least 4+ hours here. We recommend booking tickets for the Alhambra in advance online with Viator.

If you like vistas and uphill hikes within cities, we recommend hitting up the Mirador de San Nicolas around sunset time for free beautiful views of the Alhambra and the city.

You can also join walking tours of the city during the day and evening times. The city has a great outdoor market scene, and walking around the city is a beautiful experience.

Granada does not have any kosher options, so we recommend renting an Airbnb-type rental so you can make your own meals in your own kitchen.
