Philadelphia International Airport has long been one of the more frustrating stops for kosher travelers. You get through security, you’re on the American Airlines side of the world, and your options are basically packaged nuts and a prayer. That changes on May 14th. PKS Kosher Market is opening its first airport location inside PHL’s Terminal A-West, bringing a full menu of fresh kosher grab-and-go to one of the busiest travel corridors on the East Coast.
Who is Behind PKS Kosher Market
PKS isn’t starting from scratch here. The team behind PKS Kosher Market already runs certified kosher concession stands at major sports venues, including United Center in Chicago and Citizens Bank Park right here in Philadelphia. They know how to operate kosher food programs in high-traffic, logistically demanding environments, and the airport location is a natural extension of that playbook. The concept is billed as kosher, fresh, and delicious for everyone, with service covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all grab-and-go.
What’s on the Menu
The menu is more substantial than you might expect from an airport grab-and-go concept. Breakfast covers the basics well: bagels with cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, string cheese, fresh fruit salad, fresh pastries, overnight oats, and more. It’s a solid morning lineup for early departures when you don’t have time to eat before heading to the airport.
The wraps and salads section is where things get interesting. Options include a grilled chicken wrap with Caesar dressing, a smoked turkey wrap with coleslaw or pickle, a tuna wrap with balsamic dressing (gluten free), a falafel wrap with tahini dressing (also gluten free), and a veggie burger wrap with balsamic dressing. On the salad side: Caesar salad with grilled chicken, garden salad with tuna, crudite with hummus, and crudite with Caesar dressing. For a kosher airport option, this is genuinely impressive range.
Sandwiches come in two tiers. The premium sandwich line features honey smoked turkey on a pretzel bun with coleslaw, grilled chicken on a pretzel bun with coleslaw, and pastrami on a pretzel bun with coleslaw. The standard sandwich lineup includes honey smoked turkey on marble rye, beef pastrami on marble rye, a mozzarella sandwich with tomato and basil, and signature tuna on rye. The pretzel bun situation for the premium sandwiches is a smart Philly-inflected touch.
Snacks and drinks round out the offering with a boutique selection that goes well beyond airport newsstand fare: assorted dried fruits (apricot, cherries, cranberries, mango, pineapple), assorted dried nuts including everything, honey roasted, za’atar cashews, and almonds, fruit snacks, bars, chocolates, bottled coffee, water, soft drinks, Deep River and Terra chips, crackers, rolled wafers, bread sticks, Thinny Mini bagel chips, Ka’ak, and premium candies.

The PHL Advantage: All Terminals Connect
This is worth spelling out because not everyone realizes it. Unlike JFK or Newark where you can be effectively stranded in one terminal once you’re through security, PHL’s terminals are all connected post-security. Terminal A is the American Airlines hub and handles the bulk of international departures, but if you’re flying out of Terminal B or C, you can walk a few minutes and reach Terminal A-West without going back through a checkpoint. That means this PKS location is accessible to virtually every kosher traveler flying out of PHL, regardless of carrier or gate.
