New “Burger Spot” Coming to the 5 Towns This Spring

Central Avenue is no stranger to kosher burger spots at this point, but a well-known Queens institution is about to plant its flag on the Five Towns’ main drag. Burger Spot, the Forest Hills staple that’s been serving glatt kosher smash burgers and late-night comfort food to Queens diners for years, is opening a new location in the Five Towns this spring.

A Forest Hills Favorite Goes to Long Island

If you’ve spent any time in the Forest Hills kosher scene, you already know Burger Spot. The restaurant on 108th Street built a loyal following on the strength of its smash burgers, chicken sandwiches, falafel, and shakes, becoming one of the go-to spots in Queens for a quality glatt kosher burger. The Five Towns location is the brand’s first expansion beyond its original Queens home.

The signage at the new spot reads “Glatt Kosher” and the window already features a “Coming This Spring” teaser, confirming the expansion is imminent. The address is 560 A on Central Avenue, putting it squarely in the heart of the Five Towns kosher dining corridor.

What to Expect on the Menu

Forest Hills regulars know what the menu is all about: smash burgers with vegan cheese, crispy chicken sandwiches, falafel, and shakes. The smash burger format has clearly resonated with Queens diners, and the Five Towns crowd has proven it has a serious appetite for this style of kosher burger as well. Standout items from the Forest Hills location include the Oklahoma Burger loaded with caramelized onions, the classic double smash, and chicken bites that reviewers consistently rave about. Oat milk shakes round out the dairy-free, all-meat experience.

The restaurant operates as a meat establishment with no dairy, which means the “cheeseburgers” on the menu use vegan cheese, a format that’s become increasingly standard in the kosher smash burger space.

Another Option on a Well-Stocked Street

The Five Towns already has kosher burger options, and competition on Central Avenue is real. But Burger Spot brings a distinct identity: it’s a late-night-friendly, fast-casual spot with a proven track record and a menu that skews toward the indulgent side of the kosher burger spectrum. For diners who have made the trip out to Forest Hills specifically for it, having a location much closer to home is a genuine upgrade.

Kosher certification for the Five Towns location has not yet been announced publicly, though expect it to fall under the Vaad HaKashrus of the Five Towns and Far Rockaway given the location. The Forest Hills original is certified by the Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

Opening Timeline

The “Coming This Spring” sign is up and the buildout is clearly underway. No hard opening date has been announced as of this writing. Follow Burger Spot on Instagram for updates as the opening gets closer.

Burger Spot Five Towns is located at 560A Central Avenue (Five Towns area). Kosher certification: TBD.
