Israeli Kosher Burger Chain “Ruben” Launching 1st U.S. Location in Florida

South Florida’s kosher dining scene is getting an import with some serious street cred behind it. Ruben, a fast casual Israeli chain built around burgers, sandwiches, and smoked meats, is opening its first American location in Cooper City, and it’s coming with 28 locations of experience back home to back it up.

The concept is Israeli in origin and DNA, with a menu focused on freshly ground beef, in-house sauces, and the kind of attention to sourcing that tends to get lost in fast casual. This isn’t a grab-and-go operation throwing frozen patties on a flattop. The team grinds their own beef and makes their own sauces in-house, which puts them in a different category than most quick-service kosher spots you’ll find in the area.

What to Expect on the Menu

Ruben’s menu centers on smoked meats, burgers, and sandwiches, which puts it in a space that kosher South Florida doesn’t have a ton of coverage in at the fast casual level. The concept takes its cues from Israeli smoked meat culture, which has developed its own distinct identity over the past decade separate from the American BBQ tradition. Expect bold preparations with quality ingredients at the core.

A Deliberate U.S. Entry

The Cooper City location is intentionally compact, running around 45 seats. That’s not a limitation, it’s a strategy. The team has described this first location as a focused market entry, with plans already in place for a significantly larger follow-up location once the brand establishes its footing stateside. For a chain that scaled to nearly 30 locations in Israel, they’re taking the American launch seriously enough to do it carefully.

Cooper City sits in the heart of Broward County’s kosher corridor, a stretch that has been absorbing new kosher openings steadily and supports a committed kosher-observant community. It’s a smart landing spot for a brand looking to build a loyal customer base before expanding.

Opening Timeline

Ruben is currently in the final stages of preparation, with an expected opening around mid-May 2026. Worth keeping an eye on if you’re in the area or planning to be.

Ruben Miami is located at 8735 Stirling Rd, Cooper City, FL 33328. Hours on opening are 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Phone: (305) 915-9581. Kosher certification is under the ORB (Orthodox Rabbinical Board of Broward and Palm Beach Counties). Closed Shabbat.
