Kashrut Certification Changes for Playa Bowls in South Florida
As of the close of business on Saturday night, May 31st, five Playa Bowls locations in South Florida will no longer be under kosher certification by Sunshine State Kosher. The decision was made by store owners solely for business reasons, according to an announcement issued today, May 30, 2025.
The impacted locations are:
- Cooper City – 3600 N. University Dr.
- Davie – 2471 S. University Dr.
- Coral Springs – 3111 N. University Dr.
- Plantation – 10053 Cleary Blvd.
- West Palm Beach – 1900 Okeechobee Blvd.
These five stores are being removed from the Sunshine State Kosher list and will no longer be considered kosher certified starting June 1st.
Sunshine State Kosher has clarified that all other Playa Bowls locations under their supervision remain in good kosher standing. Below is a list of Playa Bowls stores in Florida that will remain under kosher supervision:

- North Miami Beach – 14881 Biscayne Blvd.
While several South Florida branches have opted out of kosher supervision, kosher consumers still have a number of certified options in West Boca, Dania Beach, and throughout the Miami metro area. Consumers are advised to verify a location’s kosher status before visiting and to refer to the most recent Sunshine State Kosher list when in doubt.
