Since the unfortunate closure of the Milk Street Cafe in the Financial District, many who work on Wall Street have been without a Kosher lunch option. As you may remember, the owner of the cafe protested not only Occupy Wall Street's activities outside his storefront, but also the NYPD baracades that made it difficult for [...]

Just because it's Kosher doesn't mean it's cleaner. That's certainly the case with Shalom Chai Pizza at 357 Grand Street in the Lower East Side, New York City. The kosher eatery, with decent reviews on MenuPages, was closed down after 75 violations were found by the City Health Department today. Some of the most egregious [...]

Wolf & Lamb Steakhouse, the popular midtown Manhattan restaurant, is opening up a new location in Midwood, on the corner of Coney Island Ave. & Ave. M. This space has been occupied by at least 1-2 other kosher restaurants over the past 10+ years, but hopefully this unique location will work well for the existing [...]

Over the past 2 weeks I have eaten at "Burgers" (formerly Burgers Bar) twice, with 2 different results. Firstly, it's worth noting that the place looks nearly identical to Burgers Bar, that nary a item has been changed to the restaurant, which is fine, other than the menu board. The positive things I [...]

Contributed by Estee Lavitt (@EsteeLavitt) I went to Bravo Pizza a few weeks ago. The pizza was delicious but the service was really not up to par. The store itself is pretty small. The staff was very friendly and nice, but unfortunately a little slow and unable to handle the crowd. I don't think [...]

Heading into my second year attending KFWE (the Kosher Food & Wine Experience), I was excited for a night of good food and good people. Many others were also excited by the huge selection of kosher wines from around the world, but not being a wine aficionado myself, I left the wine tasting to the [...]

In the past few days, a new Kosher Pizza place appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan on Broadway and W37th st. Bravo Pizza, a long time next door neighbor of Kosher Delight, has decided to go Kosher, kashering its entire store, now with an OK Supervision (Cholov Yisroel). The restaurant [...]

Classy “M Restaurant” has closed it’s doors in Flatbush and will be reopening in Manhattan in the near future. No specific date or location has been announced for it’s reopening, but we look forward to trying it when it does. One of our Twitter followers was pretty upset upon the hearing of this place closing: [...]

According to this source, even though some of Milk Street’s business has bounced back since the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street protests began a few months ago, many of the NYPD barricades still remain on and near Wall Street despite the closing of Zuccotti Park as a campsite for the movement. Marc Epstein, the [...]

This came as news to me. Apparently there has been a kosher kiosk operating inside of the SONY building for some time now (at least that’s what their website claims). Rieu Cafe is a pretty little stand in the SONY building lobby with high end coffee, bagel sandwiches, and numerous pastries including cookies, muffins, croissants, [...]

The world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, has thousands of kosher keeping fans attending its Knicks (well maybe not this year) and Rangers games, yet has yet to offer any sort of kosher fare in the arena … until now. It has been confirmed that Carlos & Gabby’s will be operating Kosher stands within [...]

Soom Soom is open at Lexington Ave and 56th st. in NYC. Personally, I think it’s the best kosher falafel in New York. The salad bar has a larger selection than the uptown sister store – this includes, among other things, beets, guacamole and fried cauliflower. The staff was friendly. Service was good and fast. [...]

Click here for: Restaurant Info Sushein is a brand new Kosher sushi restaurant officially opening today in downtown Manhattan (NYC) near City Hall. What makes Sushein unique is that they are the 1st kosher sushi restaurant in the U.S. to have a conveyor belt in the restaurant deliver sushi to its patrons. I have seen [...]

Scrolling through my Facebook feed, I noticed people asking what kosher restaurants were open in their various neighborhoods. I decided it would be a good idea for YeahThatsKosher to post a list for the NY Metro area. So I put up a Facebook status asking people if they knew of any restaurants currently open, and [...]

Coffee Bean, the ever popular Los Angeles caffeine shop is opening up 4 shops in Manhattan… the first within the next 2 weeks – by the end of August – at 1412 Broadway on the corner of 39th street. The California coffee chain is set to launch 4 locations in NYC in the coming year. [...]

For those of us who work all the way downtown in the financial district of New York, a kosher restaurant closing is a sad day. So when Essex on Coney Downtown closed, it reduced our options significantly. Replacing “Essex” will be a new restaurant called “Good Fellas” at 17 Trinity Place. And even though the [...]
