5 New Unique Kosher Restaurants in Israel (Jerusalem, Herzlia, Ra’anana, and Moshav Bitzaron)

If there aren’t already enough restaurants in Israel to satisfy the Kosher foodie, here are 5 new ones to welcome into the mix! Each of these restaurants boasts a unique characteristic, from freshly-made pasta to a (new) old train station locale. Check ’em out for yourself:

  • La PaveeLa Pavée – (Jerusalem) A gourmet, Kosher L’Mehadrin French grill restaurant located on a quiet corner in central Jerusalem. The dishes are unique, beautifully presented, and are a celebration of flavors. Because La Pavée is a new establishment, and did not take over a previous fallen restaurant’s location, everything in the restaurant is fresh and pristine. In addition to the gourmet menu, the restaurant also boasts an extensive list of fine wines. (Mehadrin Rabbanut Yerushalayim)
  • HaMiznon Kitchen Station – (Jerusalem) All aboard! First Station, the old Hamiznon Jerusalem train station, is the new place to be in town. The old train station, that has not seen an actual train in decades, has been cleaned up and renovated. The one-time eye sore is now a super-cool Jerusalem destination for entertainment, shopping and dining. The HaMiznon menu includes a range of dairy dishes including breakfasts, eggs, fish, pasta and salads. Enjoy this fun 21st century dining experience in a 19th century setting.   • Pastoria – (Herzlia) Everyone agrees that there are not enough kosher restaurants in Herzlia, but Pastoria, a new dairy Italian Pastoriarestaurant in the heart of the high tech area of Herzlia, makes up in quality what is missing in quantity. At Pastoria the excellent pasta and pasta sauces are made fresh every day. No dry pasta in this restaurant. Focaccia is a crowd pleaser, but don’t neglect the soup or the risotto balls filled with mozzarella. Pastoria offers a very nice selection of fish dishes.   • Joyce – (Moshav Bitzaron) Get away from the city and step on to the farm, Joycejust a short drive away. Joyce is the ultimate rural café/restaurant in Moshav Bitzaron, near Gan Yavne within easy access of Ashdod, Rechovot, and Gedera. The menu is fresh with the flavor and the friendly atmosphere of Israel from bygone years. The restaurant overlooks the farm’s fields and a grove of fruit trees. Joyce restaurant specializes in delicious dairy dishes. Enjoy wonderful breakfasts served daily. The menu also offers salads, sandwiches, main courses and desserts.   • Ludens – (Ra’anana) Ludens is a vegan restaurant located in the Ra’anana Industrial Park. Naturally there Ludensis no meat or fish on the menu. More than that, no animal products are used in the food preparation. That means that dishes contain no eggs, milk or cheese. So what is there to eat? A wide selection of burgers, burritos, tortillas, quinoa sushi, quiche, pizza, lasagna, stir-frys, pasta, raw dishes and a wonderful selection of fresh smoothies. Their prices are unbeatable, with menu items running about 35 shekel each. (Rabbanut Ra’anana)
