Kosher Restaurant Being Planned in Philly Suburbs: The Dairy

The owners of the relatively new Citron & Rose in Merion Station, PA (aka Philly suburbs) are in process of securing a new locale for a dairy restaurant somewhere on Montgomery Ave – seeking to launch in January 2014 (according to the manager at C+R).

While Citron & Rose is an upscale eatery (perhaps the nicest in the Philly area), The Dairy is being planned as a family friendly / casual cafe, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner (closing ~9pm) serving: pizza, salads, coffee, sandwiches, omelets, bagels, and more. They plan on keeping the restaurant open 6 days a week, and opening Motzei Shabbat.

Additionally, they plan on having a market/commissary section selling both dairy & meat products, as well as potentially catering within the local community as well.

  • Glad of this because I like dairy and have friends in that area that we visit from time to time. Going next month and will likely eat in their other place.

  • my hometown! my mom loves Citron and Rose I haven’t tried it yet but it’s so exciting to see the kosher restaurant scene grow there

  • So exciting! My old stomping grounds! They need all the good kosher places they can get.
