David InterContinental Hotel Tel Aviv “Aubergine” Restaurant [Review] (and other recommendations)

Review & Photos by Hillel Fuld (@HilzFuld)

So the David InterContinental Hotel Tel Aviv invited us to experience the hotel restaurant last night and give them my opinion on the new menu. Having visited the hotel before, I had high expectations, very high. But nothing prepared me for what I found when I got there.

Let’s just put it this way. Food aside (I’ll get to that in a second), the overall environment (aka the “ambience”) was like nothing I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant here in Israel or anywhere else. Every little detail was just perfect.

When people ask me what is a good place to dine in Israel, and they ask me a lot, I usually send them to Jem’s Beer Factory and if you’re looking for awesome food, great beer, and a laid back environment, Jems is great…

If, however, you are looking for a world-class restaurant with service like you have never seen and food that tastes like what heaven you would imagine is like, you must check out Aubergine in the Intercontinental Tel Aviv.

They served us liver, mallard, veal, entrecôte, lamb chops, and beef filet. All amazing and delicious.  The best dish of the evening was the beef filet. Delish.

(By the way, if you want great food that comes in HUGE portions, Meat and Wine in Herzliya is worth checking out, too.)

But for an overall amazing experience with outstanding food, this place takes first place in my book.

This meal was a real treat!  Best restaurant and experience I’ve ever had in Israel.

One might say, our waitress was responsible for our amazing experience. She did not stop smiling…
