Philly’s Max & David’s Not Reopening After Pesach; Opening Food Truck Instead

The beloved Philly Kosher eatery, Max & David's of Elkins Park located in the Yorktown Plaza, is not reopening its doors after Passover, according to its owner Steve Katz (quoted by Philly.com). The restaurant was not profitable.

Katz did note, however, that Max & David's will still live on as a food truck, with a reserved space in a private parking lot near 34th and Walnut Streets.

They will also continue making their famous non-dairy gelato, which it will sell and distribute through other caterers.
