In reference to the Chabad- The Chabad.org website is very outdated. I arrived in Paris Friday morning and it was impossible to get in touch with many of the Chabad's houses listed in the area I was staying (In the République neighborhood btw)
One of the members of our group was meeting us in Paris via stopover in Ireland and his plane never showed up in Paris and we spent most of the day tracking him down and forgetting that we had no Shabbat plans. We finally tracked his plane down to a small Airport in western Ireland and our friend was on a airline bus traveling across snowy Ireland to another airport and wasn't due to arrive until 1am Shabbat morning. Even though we are completely shomer shabbat, I walked to the train station to meet him when he landed.
Anyways, we ended up wandering around the Jewish quarter of Paris until we saw a Jew who showed us were a shul was. We found an Ashkenaz shul- virtually hidden, and we got their in the middle of Arvit. After tefilah was over we explained to the rabbi our situation and he gladly brought the 3 of us to his home for shabbat dinner and went back the next day and had lunch at the shul...
We got VERY lucky...please make sure you speak to a Chabad or Shul before your trip!!!
