As we know, eating meat is considered festive and therefore forbidden (without a siyum) during the 9 days. I think that is important to mention that not everybody holds by the “Nine Days”! The Ashkenazi establishment in this country seems to routinely behave like non-Ashkenazim don’t exist or just plain don’t count (aka are not important enough to mention). We do well enough just to get a passing reference tucked in at the end like, “Oh, yeah, by the way, many Sephardic Jews only hold by “the week of” and enjoy meat and wine up until the week of Tisha b’Ab.”
